Mural for the Niles Township food pantry in Skokie, IL.
The Niles Township Food Pantry is operated for the benefit of township residents who are in need. Currently, the Food Pantry provides food at no cost to about 6,000 low-income individuals per month who reside in the communities of Niles Township. All monetary donations are allocated to purchasing food to replenish the pantry shelves. For every dollar donated four meals will be purchased.
Thanks to Nick and Bonnie for having me to paint this one. More info about the pantry HERE.

Worked on the third installment of 1733’s annual Artist Camo series with a print we are calling “Midwest Camo”. Inspired by plants, rocks, streams and hills around Illinois and Wisconsin as well as traditional military camouflage color palettes. We did two color ways for this release, one representing lush, green of June and one for September’s dry amber equinox. The pattern is used across a variety of 1733’s favorite silhouettes.
A little about 1733:
They have been designing and making bags and accessories in Chicago since 2014. They operate out of a studio in the West Garfield Park neighborhood with a small team. By using small-batch, in-house manufacturing, selectively paired with high-quality domestic factory production, they create bags that are durable, beautiful, and uncommon.

music video for “Glowworms” by SiP
Drew Ryan got his hands on an old Elmo document viewer and hooked it up to a JVC composite video mixer. Playing around with the internal settings he got this hazy video effect that was the original inspiration to make the video. He then asked me if I’d be down to cut some shapes out of lighting gels and tinted 3M films. We played the song on repeat and I started laying the shapes onto the document bed making compositions. Drew was recording and working the mixer, zooming in and out and inverting the colors as I worked on different shape layouts. We liked the video effect so much, Drew used stills from that for the design of the “Los Ultras” album cover coming out in November on Not Not Fun.

In August of 2024 I went on my third Jaunt trip, this time to Jeju island, the volcanic island off the southern coast of South Korea for a week. Inspired by my experiences and observations there, I created a new body of work the next week in South Korea, and exhibited that during the Seoul Art Week at Realation Space.
I made new peace pot plant drawings as well as a series of screen prints inspired by my time on Jeju. Also made a series of variants, hand printing a series of circles inspired by the famous tangerines of Jeju on the prints.
Available work can be seen HERE.

My second solo show at Mini Galerie in Amsterdam.
Text below by Alicia Hansen for Mini Galeire…
Featuring a series of seven paintings and three new powder-coated steel sculptures, Hudson’s characteristically quirky forms tell the story of a mind searching for connection to the natural world. The creative outcome of a socially isolated pandemic, these pieces both represent the artist’s tangle of inner reflections as well as pay tribute to the nature around him. By employing a subdued palette, Hudson transfers feelings of hopefulness, positivity, and self-reflection to a world still thawing from prescribed loneliness and isolation. A contemporary ode to still-life and landscape painting, Hudson demonstrates how careful observation of the life growing around us can generate a new perspective, and help us to escape the monologue of self-deprecating thoughts that often arise when we spend too much time alone in our head.
Also released two new screenprints with the show titled Everyday Ambient Isolation Redux Part One & Two (2022) on Fabriano Artistico Grana Fina paper. Edition of 30.

Album cover design for Hiss Golden Messenger “O Come All Ye Faithful” Record on Merge Records.
Conceptualized and written during the chaotic fall months of 2020, O Come All Ye Faithful is a meditation on grace, loss, hope, and community. Hiss Golden Messenger leader, songwriter, and vocalist M.C. Taylor talks about the inspiration for the album: “Big, brash holiday music—the type that we hear in big-box stores in the middle of December—has never resonated with me, and this past year it felt absolutely dissonant. I wanted to make a seasonal record that felt more in step with the way that I, and so many others, experience this time of year: quiet, contemplative, searching, and bittersweet.” Taylor adds, “The intention was to make a seasonal record with vibe.”
O Come All Ye Faithful features three new songs written by Taylor, traditional classics, and new renditions of “Shine a Light” by Spiritualized, “As Long As I Can See the Light” by Creedence Clearwater Revival, and “Hanukkah Dance” by Woody Guthrie, all arranged in the distinctive Hiss Golden Messenger style.

Rainbow installation in the farm fields at The Ecology Center. This massive wood sculpture based on a rainbow drawing of mine was built and engineered by the crew at Designers On Holiday. The arches are all built at the same height and width with the gap between each almost doubling each time the further back they go so that it all aligns when you stand in front of it to replicate the original drawing. The Ecology Center made some hats and T shirts of the rainbow as well.

Jordan Brand has partnered with eight local talents, both established and up-and-coming, on a collection that takes inspiration from the Windy City. Each collaborator was tasked with bringing one of Chicago’s eight transit line colors to life on apparel and footwear, acknowledging how the train unites the city’s residents, neighborhoods and culture for a collection that was released during NBA All-Star Game weekend. I worked on a collection based around the Orange line.
